The Dreaming Plug:
an invaluable tool for the serious KateFan(tm):
The trick is to disconnect the ground wiring.

This is your plug:

     ------------v--v-\/--\
                           \
                           /
     ------------^--^-/\--/
    |
----
^^^^^^^^^^----------- tape this area without overlap.

I was told by a Grundig engineer, that there's no danger to destroy your
equipment with this tool.
It cancels out the inphase signals leaving everything out of phase
(correct?), that is normally the background things.
As Kerry White pointed out before, you can do this also with a
DOLBY-surround decoder, if you have one. If not, the Dreaming Plug is a
slightly less expensive alternative.
Often KaTe's lead vocal is removed completely and you can hear all the cool
voices from "The Dreaming" very clear. That's why it's called "Dreaming
Plug". The story
behind is that Vickie (the Happy Rhodes Vickie) once broke her headphones...

>"and it's been wonderful! :)
>That got me to go get The Dreaming and Hounds of Love, and I have been
>having a *GREAT* time!! Listening like this, to albums that I know so
>very well, is amazing. I'm hearing voices, and instruments and sound
>effects that I never knew existed. I can't even express how fantastic
>this is!!
>The Dreaming is *already* full of voices and sound effects, and listening
>to it normally, I still hear new things every time I listen to it, which
>is one reason it's my all-time favorite album of all-time, by anybody.
>Yet, tonight, each song revealed *dozens* of new things! Details just
>*poured* forth....especially in songs like TD and Get Out Of My House (I
>mean, footsteps, and locks clicking and separate doors slamming and
>grunts and screams and all kinds of things).

As I said: invaluable. You will get many new KaTe songs without paying
anything!
Enjoy!
