>i have a question about some kate albums. i have read many articles, loads of >fanzines, and a ton of other shit, and have never seen this anywhere. "this >woman's work" 7" picture disc single is engraved with the words "up yours >ugly" and the 12" picture disc for "rubberband girl" is engraved with "whack >it on". i was just wondering if anyone else has ever noticed these things, >and if anyone has any idea why they are there. i've read about bush family >jokes that only they would get, so, is this part of the gag or what? Well, "Up yours, ugly!" is from _The Young Ones_. In the episode _Bored_, the boys are so bored that they go down to the local pub. Vivian (sp?) unexpectedly discovers that the barmaid is his mother. She isn't interested in talking to him, instead latching onto Mike. When he tries to get her attention, she shouts "Up yours, ugly!" Kate credited _The Young Ones_ on _The Sensual World_. Yeah, it seems wierd. But Kate has a weird sense of humor. -- Chris Williams of Chris'n'Vickie of Chicago chrisw@miso.wwa.com "How perfectly goddamn delightful it all is, to be sure." - C. Crumb
