Spams, Binaries, ...

Seing that bloody magazine list for the third time is the last straw.
I think it's time to break the love-hounds/r.m.g link, and abandon the
newsgroup.

I know mailing lists get spammed as well as newsgroups, but
not nearly so often; as for the binaries issue, new mailing list
subscribers can be sent explanatory posting guidelines.

I doubt anyone who currently reads the newsgroup is incapable of
joining the mailing list, but the converse is very likely the case
(my news server drops articles, and in any case the posting delay
is often up to a week).
