DSearch@aol.com wondered: * Anyone know which of Kate's CDs have sound quality differences between US, * UK, and Japanese editions? Usually, as I'm sure you know, the US versions are 8 times out of 10 inferior to releases from across the pond. This generally holds true for visual presentation as well. The Japanese do those little things that should be done by default, such as giving you the damn lyrics! Reissued US Kate albums on Manhattan/EMI are the worst-stay away from them. Which reminds me: Has anyone compared the new CD release of the Hammersmith live show (the one that comes in a set with the videotape) with the original "Neutral Zone" bootleg that purportedly is the audio track from the Japanese laserdisk? * The only one I've directly compared is the US vs UK TWS, and the UK is * noticably superior. Not only that, but the UK release has "the laugh" where it's supposed to be-at the end of "Love and Anger," not at the beginning of "The Fog." !! * Would anyone who's compared the others be willing to * share their insights on the subject? I think the old adage "you get what you pay for" applies here. Larry (larry@hal.com)
