If a little control of one's feelings, supressing of one's ego and realization of the value of others' feelings were applied before replying, I bet the conversation would be of higher class. : 2) Even if people are malicious, there is nothing we should/can do - if we : bar people from posting (as if we can) it will be CENSORSHIP. : > Are they not everything that's opposed to Kate? : Well, KateFandom ain't a religion (although some regard Her as Godhead) : and she has never said "Thou shalt do this" or "My fans should never do that". : While she herself is the embodiment of politeness, her fans are not required : to possess that particular characteristic. Of cource not, but IMO it's inpoliteness towards Kate to hammer down others' opinions. : As for those who say LH is dominated by a close-kit family, I disagree. : The names that were cited are those who post a lot and/or possess a : huge amount of Kate lore, and that is the only "kinship" that is apparent. I for one have always opposed closed circles...it has some very damaging aspects to rational menatl activity. The growth of selfcontentness is one of the problems of these closed circles. : It is true that newbies (Kate-wise or Net-wise) can be intimated by the : tone of some of their postings. But I am sure their intent is not to : exclude newcomers. Unfortunately personalities are as different as snow : flakes, and some people tend to stir up friction a lot; in the case : of LoveHounds there just seems to be a larger than normal proportion : of them! The word 'newbie' as such is as offensive as: nigger, fascist, spokesman, faggot, etc...it is impolite to give people lables. On the other hand I wouldn't want the terminology to go as far as in the States with all the looong terms such as 'physically impaired'. It's just that 'newbie' is such a unnecessary word...how long does one have to be in this group to not be a 'newbie' or how long has one have had to listen to Kate to not be a 'newbie'? Anyways, I don't know very much about Lovehounds and as such haven't got enough knowledge to judge them...I can only say that talking to Vickie, I have found out that she at least isn't the monster she has been tagged. If the Lovehounds known to be loud and pressuring in their opinions, why not re-christen them...Love does not condemn, nor does it judge. -- 'Hello old lady, I know your face well - I know it well.' -Kate- Dani <murazor@cute.fi>
