My apologies for getting off the "alternative" track, but the same thread of a tribute album--in this case for the Moody Blues--is going on now on Lost Chords, a list serve for fans of that British band. Among others, I pegged Kate to do "Watching and Waiting" or "The Actor." A presentation along the lines of "Under the Ivy" would be superb. Another LCer followed up my post with suggestions for her to do other Moodies songs. Surely someone else here can answer to whether she might have even been influenced by the Moody Blues. She was getting started at the right time to know of them, especially considering her association with another British art rocker, David Gilmour. But her style sure would complement some of their tunes, especially the ballads. Then again, it sure would be swell to hear her take on a more upbeat tune like "Gypsy," with all of its "ah-aahs."
