Thanks so much to Karen Newcombe for a completely wonderful
Katemas in San Francisco!

I am once again trying to hack out an early post while in the
midst of vacation, and the last try (besides being full of botches) also
went to the wrong address, and hopefully is lost forever.

So let me just clsoe with the news that I am wandering around
Northern California until Saturday, August 13. I won't see anything on
line until then.

A pleasure to post from San Francisco, the city not just of dreams
but of many many memories. Thanks for a new one, Karen, Bill, Andy, Stev0!

Here's hoping that I don't screw up like the last time when I
tried to send an early post from London!

I'm over at Charlie's, logged directly onto CompuServe so I can
be the first (or at least one of the first) to send *sincerest and most
heartfelt thanks*!! to Karen Newcombe for the most excellently housed and
hosted Katemas party of you experience! It is still going on, and I long
to rejoin it (may be maybe...), but just as with the Convention, I am in
San Francisco for reasons additional to (but not more important than) the
pending kb event. I was up in the High Sierra last week, and will be up
the Mendocino coast next week. But certainly this was a pivotal weekend
--back in the city of my life and joy 1966-1973, when I leved about four
blocks from Karen's lovely, airey, and completely congenial apartment on
Ashbury.

[	Damn. There is apparently no going back to previous lines in
this editor. Well, so that I don't produce another of those "help, get
me out of here" riffs, let me close simply with the report that I will
be away through this coming Saturday, August 13. Catch up with everybody
then!
