Woodstock 94 is a mockery of the original event. Though it does have
many great bands playing, as well as what seems to be an impressive plan to
display the future of technology, it is based on merchandising. With all of
the regulations on camping equipment and food, it is obvious that the corporate
sponser is just trying to make more money. And besides, the spectacle of the
original Woodstock had nothing to do with an impressive executively planned
event(which it wasn't). It was that an unexpected half-million young people
showed up to the event and partied out of control in a muddy field to the
sounds of the greatest bands of the time. This leads me to my suggestion.
Rather than becoming enraged at the materialistic nature of such a carefully
crafted Woodstock 94, let's make it more spectacular than the first. The stage
is set, but it is up to us to make it happen. GO TO WOODSTOCK 94 WITHOUT
TICKETS; BRING AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN. It is the number of people that show
up that make the party, so get too many people to show up. Please go and
make this as spectacular an event as possible.
