Another tale similar to Larry H's... in my mailbox today I found a
large envelope from "Sony Music Distribution". Tossed it in my car,
figuring that it was junk mail derived from my attendance at the
InterMedia '94 exposition in San Jose last month. I did briefly
entertain the idea that somehow someone at Sony had randomly chosen
me to receive some long-lost master tape of KaTe's infamous "lost
album" sessions. (You know, the album she recorded but never
released during the hiatus between HOL and TSW; the one that the
record companies attempted to obscure in smoke by releasing The
Whole Story; the one that even the real Jon Drukman [not the overly
polite imposter who posts even now under the real Jon's name] was
heard to say might be KaTe's White Album, the flip-slip-flip side of
Prince's Black Album). Anyway, with the sudden feeling that something
good was gonna happen, I opened the envelope that had been tossed
onto the table hours before.

Inside was one of the not-exactly-rare but not-exactly-common, black
t-shirts with The Red Shoes cover art on the front. As KaTe has
often said -- "Wow".

The only note inside the package was a pink slip of paper that read
"This package is complimentary from Sony Music thanking you for your
participation in one of our various retail and radio contest [sic]
held during 1993."

I can only assume that I got the shirt as a result of entering Mod
Lang's recent promo event. Pretty cool, considering that they're in
California and I'm in Texas. Have to stop in there some time and
tell 'em thanks.

She must be.
