<<By stating that 'emotions' can be transferred to any type of medium, is saying that emotion is something in and of itself beyond the human form. So, said emotions can be re-experienced again and again, without the actual performers presence, and even long after the performer is dead. Thus, emotion is something that must exist on it's own, and is not dependent upon a human being. This makes human emotion seem to be of a mystical nature, and something for which Kate would never stand.>> That doesn't scan. Music is recorded, and can be re-experienced long after the performer is dead; does that mean music is a mystical thing, not dependent on human beings? Of course not! The music was still created by a person or persons, and would not exist without them, nor would it have meaning without people to listen and appreciate. The presence of a live musician in the room is not an issue; it's still communication from musician to listener. Emotions are not directly recorded, in any case. Rather, it is the expression of emotion that is recorded, which in turn evokes an emotional response from the listener. And that is both Kate Bush's art and occupation. Peter Stoller
