Well you are the first person I have found with your particular opinions. 
I have been listening to Kate for about 5 years now...I first bought her
after I bought The Sensual World and was impressed enough to investigate. 
I think that her best two performaces are The Dreaming and Hounds of Love,
the Dreaming probably being the most emotional music I own.  Anyway, I
like her albums after that about the same, EXCEPT the Kick Inside, which
for me was a grave disappointment.  So much, in fact, that I sold it back!
 Sorry we don't share the same view of Kate...I guess we somewhat agree on
The Red Shoes, which I agree is not her best, although it is certainly
listenable.  The one last thing I can mention is that prehaps you should
find an hour or so some night, when you won't be bothered.  Then take the
Sensual World and listen to it in dim lighting, perhaps before going to
bed.  I find that an excellent experience, and I try to repeat that every
now and then...It's the simple things in life that make it worth living.
