a paranormal phenomenon

How come that you can sometimes tell that a person is looking at
you, while you are not seeing that person. Or the other way
around; how come that if you look at another person for some
seconds chances then are that you will see a turning of the head and
a gaze back at you.
This is a paranormal phenomenon to me but perhaps there is a
simple explanation?
