Hi! Thanks to all of you for your suggestions as to how I can convincingly get out of work on Thursday to go to NYC to see Kate. Winner of the Most Involved Award goes to the person who sent me a detailed recipe for Instant Illness involving high doses of niacin, green pea Soup (which would be enough to get me hurling on its own), ipecac, and Dramamine. She assured me this combination wouldn't be harmful, but I'll pass, thanks. (If anyone else wants to try this, e-mail me and I'll send the exact formula for success.) The straightforward approach, I fear, wouldn't work. Marching into my boss' office tomorrow and announcing, "I won't be in tomorrow- Kate Bush is going to be at Tower and I'm going to see her" would be met with, "Yeah, right. Be here at 8:30 sharp or you're history." Guaranteed. Fortunately, there is a flu virus going around the office that has already claimed two of the three people I work for (and judging by the amount of phlegm I've been producing today, I might *really* be ill on Thursday :}), and I mentioned in passing that my roommate had a stomach virus over the weekend, so calling on Thursday morning and claiming acute puking should work nicely. We'll see on Friday how well I played it. :} Now... who's going to be there, and when should we meet? I'll be taking a train from New Haven to Grand Central, but I'm not sure when. I'd like to be there by noon if I can, but will that be too early? What's the consensus on how early we should be there to line up? Humans a really bizarre creatures, aren't they?
