Sure! The addresss to subscribe is

and to post, just take off the -request. The list is available in
either loose mail or digest form.

For a "taste" of what goes on, archives are available via anonymous ftp
at hardees.rutgers.edu in pub/hr.

Considering the "other artists" groaning that has cropped up here yet
again, I should probably warn potential subscribers that Ecto is far more 
than "just" a Happy Rhodes mailing list. We encourage talk about any
other artist a subscriber might be interested in. Most of the artists
tend to be other female artists (Kate, Jane Siberry, Sarah McLachlan,
Bjork too, for instance) but male artists are talked about too. Besides
music, we talk about movies and books and art exhibits and weather and
depression and Legos and Zombie cats and...well, just about anything
anyone wants to talk about. We keep a birthday list and a Hostel list
and a shoe size list (ok, maybe no one's actually keeping *that* list.)

Happy's not on Ecto, but we have direct access to her and she keeps us
up-to-date with her goings on. Ecto's big (about 220 subscribers, which
is big for an artist who doesn't even have a recording contract) and
busy and friendly and interesting and fuzzy and nice. 

Anyone's welcome to join (even if you haven't heard Happy's music) and
there's no pressure to post or "get involved" if you don't want to.
The volume is high, the topics are all over the place, and if you don't
mind, come on over!

(I won't be around for a while though. Chris and I are going to
Toronto to see Jane Siberry, Holly Cole, Mary Margaret O'Hara,
Victoria Williams and Recebba Jenkins, together one night only
for a special Christmas concert on Friday night.)
