I must jump on the bandwagon with these other people who say that Never For Ever is Kate's best album. Don't get me wrong, they're all good (with the possible exception of TSW), but Never For Ever (IMHO) is the album on which Kate's voice is at its best. It's between the screechy 1st two albums and The Dreaming, on which she takes a new vocal direction (or something). I like The Dreaming, even though most of the songs are kinda weird. But it's almost as if she loses something after NFE that is not regained on any of her later recordings. However, I'm convinced that she could sing like that again if she really wanted to, but given how she feels about her earlier work, I'm not gonna hold my breath. Here's a thought that just popped into my bored skull: How about a Kate Bush / Tori Amos duet? That would be cool. Would you be able to tell whose voice was whose? I'd better quit before someone accuses me of blasphemy or something...
