Um, point?

I mean, it's very nice that you grew up with Elton John, but that doesn't
make any of his songs better or worse on an artistic level.  I live next
to MacArthur Park, but that doesn't mean that Donna Summer's version was
any good.

All of us should remember to judge the work on its own merits.  No matter
what it is: this CitW thing, the new Kate album, the new Ernest movie...
