It's interesting to note that I find a fair bit of similarity between "Why Should I Love You" and the album _Hounds of Love_. That's the song Prince produced, which makes it even more odd. The drums remind me of "Running up that Hill", the initial vocals remind me of a break in the 12" version of "The Big Sky", and the backing synth that sounds like voices reminds me of something from _Hounds_ as well. Does anyone else understand what I mean, and maybe even agree? Is there more stuff that I don't get? The only complaint I have with the new album is that the vocals are so much the same from track to track--not melodically of course, but they just have the same "typical Kate" sound to them. It's good, but I'm accustomed to more variation in her stuff; even the vocals on TSW were varied more, I think. There are a couple of exceptions, but they're late in the album, so the impression of sameness is already built by the time you get there. In any case, don't jump me on this, I realize it's just a minor note, since the songs themselves are mostly much stronger than TSW. -- Pete Hartman Bradley University pwh@bradley.bradley.edu We have computers because man, nobody is perfect
