I don't know if this is a general thing but where I am, lpr -v -Pprinter file
is necessary to print postscript files and lpr -Pprinter file will actually
print the text of the postscript file (postscript files are just programs,
they are ascii readable) which can be pretty huge and thus a pretty mega-waste
of paper. *:)
