I was looking through _The Billboard Book of Number One Hits_, by
Fred Bronson. This book has a page on every Billboard no. 1 hit
from July, 1955, to June 1988. The number one single on the week
of Nov. 9, 1985 was "Miami Vice Theme" by Jan Hammer. Here's what
one paragraph says:

"Many of the television critics who praised the show in its first season
made reference to the series' music, a combination of songs by artists
like Glenn Frey, Phil Collins and Kate Bush and original music by Jan
Hammer, the former keyboardist for the Mahavishnu Orchestra."

For those who don't know, the Kate song they played was part of "Hello
Earth," and it was used in the episode titled (coincidentally) "Bushido."

Also coincidentally, this week (Nov. 9, 1985) happens to be the week of
the first appearance of "Running Up That Hill" on the Top 40.
