i listened to this again last night, just to make sure i wasn't missing 
something and it did sound a little bit better played at higher volumes.
her voice on this is not nearly as bad as i first thought, but the cheesy
(or "trite" as jon says) synthesizers are still annoying as hell.

um, none. the only demo that has made it as a b-side is "passing through
air", and that isn't even a "home demo" - "passing through air" was one of
the first set of demos recorded at david gilmour's home studio in 1973.
the "home demos" (or the cathy demos, as they have come to be called) were
reportedly recorded in 1976 (though that date is rather debatable).
