A couple last-minute additions to the KaTe tribute album:
Alex Chilton -- I'm Still Waiting (reportedly turned into a lounge song)
The Residents -- The Dreaming (one minute long)
And here are some selections from KaTe's Kover album, Time Has Told Me:
Time Has Told Me (Nick Drake)
(She could just as easily be typecast for just about every other Nick
Drake song. "Northern Sky", "Rider on the Wheel", and "Chime of a
City Clock" spring to mind)
Inside (Ian Anderson)
Islands (King Crimson)
Sunday Morning / Jesus (Lou Reed)
Blue Moon (Alex Chilton)
Love Lies (Captain Beefheart)
Child's Christmas In Wales (John Cale)
("Chinese Envoy" would be nice, too)
Pissing in a River (Patti Smith)
(a real dramatic song)
The Belldog (Eno)
(a science fiction story. There are some other great Eno songs, too)
Dirge, Shooting Star (Bob Dylan)
(The first is a chance to get her hands really dirty, but somehow drag
a happy ending out of it. Sort of an extreme "Not This Time". Shooting
Star is an upbeat but contemplative song)
Two Left Feet (Richard Thomspon)
(A fun song. )
The Stranger Song (Leonard Cohen)
(or "Bird on a Wire", or...)
Set the Controls For the Heart of the Sun (Pink Floyd)
(this would go well with "Rocket Man". whispered vocals, digeridu)
segueing into
Twisted (Psychic TV)
(where KaTe gets a chance to really hiss!)
endwar
Plus any of a number of songs by the Beatles, Paul Simon, maybe an Elvis
Costello (or Presley) tune...
