i'm fairly certain that the rifle bolt percussion in "army dreamers" was in fact sampled on the fairlight -- the sound is identical each time. there are, in fact, sound effect libraries compatible with the fairlight, full of gunshots, tire screeches, etc. one of these may have been the source of the sample -- but we know that the breaking glass at the end of "babooshka" was sampled by KaTe and Krew... IMHO, the production, music, and lyrics of "army dreamer" are extraodinary -- equal to anything on the next two albums... footah! -greg -- gb10@gte.com -- "a woman drew her long black hair out tight and fiddled whisper music on those strings and bats with baby faces in the violet light whistled, and beat their wings" -- T.S.
