well, larry, there were at least two responses on r.m.m to your question
about bel canto's _birds of passage_. i believe the consensus was that 
it is a *different* album from _white out conditions_. where _woc_ is
acoustic, _bop_ is more electronic in nature. personally, i think both
are good. i know vickie has described _bop_ as "dated" (or something 
like that) due to the synth sound, and maybe that is true, but i think
that the two are too far apart to be really compared. but if you held a
gun to my head, i would say that i prefer _bop_.

as for hetch hetchy, again, there are enough differences to void a com-
parison. _make djibouti_ is more rocking and uses a synth to fill out
the sound. _swollen_ is dark and menacing, slow and laced with bass, 
with a violin filling out the sound. i prefer _swollen_ (but stewart
feels differently - he claims that _swollen_ sounds too much like sioux-
sie and the banshees).
