First an addendum to the White Rose Fund list as posted here: Larry
Hernandez, IED apologizes for the error; ditto to Missy Caldwell. Your
names will be included in the card that IED is sending along with the
envelope of individual cards and notes.
IED would just like to say that in his opinion those who
dismiss Kate's early videos because they were shot on videotape
or because their lighting, special effects and production values
were inferior to the current MTV standard are missing a great deal.
Kate's early video performances are centered around her movement,
and that movement always enhances not only the emotional content,
but the narrative and symbolic elements of the songs as well. There's
a lot going on in every one of Kate's videos, from the first Rockflix
"moors" production of "Wuthering Heights" to "This Woman's Work".
The expressive language and quality of technical execution may have
changed, but the general artistic vision hasn't. Finally, if there's
someone who actually doesn't agree that the videos for "There Goes a
Tenner", "Suspended in Gaffa" and "Hounds of Love" are masterpieces of
the video genre, well then, they never understood them--they never
really tried...

-- Andrew Marvick, looking at oh, one of those things...umm...

P.S.: IED looks forward to meeting everyone at Larry's party.
Sounds terrific...even (gulp!) Jon Drukman's concert program...
