Well, speaking under my new name of Franz D. Eyetweezer, I have to agree.
It was a great movie.  The musical bits weren't too exciting (although I do
give her, or rather her musical director, points for the reworking of Like A
Virgin), but the rest of the movie was quite good.

I still can't see those goofy costumes without recalling that Doonesbury
strip of several months ago... "She's just a normal person!  She puts her
cones on one at a time, like everyone else!"
