A couple of pocket reviews, forgive the pseudo cross-post there were
questions about Tanita in r.m.g and Toyah in r.m.m, and I thought
there would be enough cross over to make it worthwhile.

New albums by both were lying in wait for me in HMV when I want in
search of United States I-IV this weekend. I retired shell shocked
before reaching customer services, so that is another shock for my
bank manager sometime.

Anyway...

Tanita Tikarum - `Everybody's Angel'

Almost all in the style of `The Sweet Keeper', which is to say less
swinging than `Ancient Heart'. Not bad, I still prefer AH. The
exception is `Hot Pork Sanwiches' which is noted as being an older
song, and sounds it, in my opinion the best thing on the album.

Rating: If you want something new and can't find anything which is
really essential, this would be a good one to get.

BTW, it is worth while trying to get the `special limited first
edition', whatever that may mean, the pictures in the extra booklet
are quite good, if I had access to a scanner they might challenge Her
for my background.

Toyah - `Ophelia's Shadow'

I like it. Less experimental than `Prostitute', but lots of good
stuff. Maybe a little too much `Frip'ery, but then I don't like Frip.
This one is something like the better bits of Desire (i.e The View and
Moon Migration, IMHO).

Rating: Worth looking for. Maybe even worth orderring if you are a
Toyah fan.

Trivia: Doesn't she look like Anne Lennox!
