Subject: TSW video in the UK
EMI has finally released the videos over here, just in time for KhrisTmas! Although all the stores managed to sell out, I bought a copy a week or so ago. Does the US version of the video collection include the interview? I've transcribed it and could post it if anyone wants to read it (no amazing revelations, but a story or two that I had never heard before). The interview is quite long, about 15 mins or so (don't quote me on the exact length), and ends with the 'Making of TWW'. It was my first proper chance to see the 3 videos - TSW, L&A and TWW - and I got the wierdest impression from the first two of chess pieces! Specifically, Kate looked like the Queen in a standard chess set in TSW, and in L&A she kind of looked like the King, and there were 8 dancers (pawns) behind her... L&A is just *stiff* with symbolism, it's just interesting to see a sort of theme between the two videos. I love the bit at the end of L&A with the band grooving away (so that's what a valiha looks like!) and Kate doing the 'ol hand movements (the same ones she pastiched in her Convention story!!). Great fun. I don't know if this means anything, but I thought I'd just point this out. Has anyone else had the same feelings? Maybe I'm mad (rhetorical).
