Subject: The complete annotated lyrics???
Re Richard Caldwell (in <9002161458.AA16270@eddie.mit.edu>) I'm not particularly attached to be the designated collator, especially as I love my job and have lots of busy-ness already... I do have some annotation experience, having done 100 pages on the first two paragraphs of Finnegans Wake (a standard of ridiculousness that I hope will never be surpassed). My rule-of-editing-thumb there was to put in everything even vaguely relat- able, but I think even if we be highly liberal here we'll still not tax net resources excessively. After running through TKI1 I begin to wonder whether lyrics-plus-annotations will even double the length of the lyrics alone, if we stick to known facts and reasonable speculation... Re Julian West (in <1111581@mac.dartmouth.edu>) Why _interwar_ Berlin??? Om mani padme hum gets explained every so often in eastern-religion books. I just have to remember which ones... It occurs to me that the "You crush the lilly in my soul" line from Moving might in fact imply that KT had a crush on Kemp-- I don't see any other interpretation of the negativity of that line in a very positive song... --jorn
