No Subject

I can't find the etymology of "vorpal" anywhere, not even
_The_Annotated_Alice_.  Hmmm . . . is it a Carrolianism or not?  I do
know that "chortled" and "galumphing" _are_ Carrolian in origin and
are credited as such in the OED.  For what it's worth . . .
