Please help me compile a list of addresses of mail-order firms located
outside the USA that accept major credit cards for Compact Disc
purchases. I have been happy with Adrians and Oldies Unlimited in
England, but am seeking companies in Australia, the contental part of
the EC, Japan, or elsewhere. Motivation: I have bought CD's from England
for as low as L7.99 and with no currancy exchange fees by using a credit
card (virtually none, any way) that means $12.80 for an import CD that
would cost about $25.00 from an importer (read importer = middleman).
In my small purchases for personal use, I had to pay no Customs
charges, and the shipping was basically free because the English
companies provide non-English customers with a 13% VAT (Value Added Tax)
discount.

Please use e-mail if at all possible. (Post too if acceptable to
moderator, but I will post a complete list once I assemble one.)

I made a similar request to rec.music.cd, rec.music.misc, and
alt.rock-n-roll about a month ago. The response was terrible. One guy
recommended Towers in London, everyone else just mailed a request for a
copy of the list. (I still have your e-mail addresses and will mail to
you)

This news group seems to have far more non-USA readers and contributors
than the others, so I am hoping for a better response!!! Please!!!

Almost forgot, I had good luck with Discs and DATs in Whitby Ontario.

All addresses will be part of the completed list

Thanks.

Sincerely,
John M. Sulak
