Subject: Sinead O'Connor's _Troy_ - About her MOM ?!?!?

Now that the Cathy Demo nonsense is dying down, let's return to our regularly unscheduled program: I was watching MTV the other midnight, and Kevin whatsisname (the VeeJay), while introducing Elvis Costello's _Veronica_, made a remark about artists who have written songs about their relatives, and he implied that _Troy_, Sinead O'Connor's best song ever, was written about her MOTHER ! Now, I may have missed something here, because it seems pretty obvious to me that _Troy_ is about the loss of a lover. Maybe Sinead has a relationship to her mother that I didn't know about, but I kind of think MTV blew it. Any thoughts? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jeff Adams "If you never did, you should, adams@bosco.berkeley.edu these things are fun & fun is good" -Dr. Seuss ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
