Yes..

Hard to understand how a list could survive without a high reader-to-
writer ratio.

Well, I've lost that 4AD subscription list address.  If someone would
care to, please send it to me or post it or something.  I'll probably be
kicked off instantly - I only post here every other year or so, and I
(like you) also prefer to have mailing lists (such as this one) come to
an alias for potential list splitting, but what the heck...
