[ The UK version of the album is Kate's original cover. For
some reason unkown to me, many countries that pressed
their own issues of *The Kick Inside* decided not to use the
original cover. The U.S., Candian, and Japanese version all
have different covers. The original cover has Kate, painted
gold, attached to a Kite and flying by this huge, colorful
eyeball. -- |>oug ]
To be specific, the "Tammy Wynette", or "country-western" cover,
shows a photo of Kate sort of curled up in a corner, wearing blue
jeans; the "mirror" or "Canadian" cover (this second description is
misleading, because although it is still used for the Canadian
edition, it was also the original U.S. cover) shows a close-up of Kate
sort of propping her head up with her hand; the Japanese cover shows
Kate in a head-and...er...-shoulders (ahem) shot, wearing a pink
leotard; and the original, U.K. cover is as |>oug describes it above.
IED believes that there is actually a _fifth_ cover that differs from
any of the others, possibly the Brazilian (? Argentinian?) one, which
uses a similar but different pink-leotard shot for its cover.
