Dark Side of the Moon

Oh, my - you should really read rec.music.misc where the discussion
about the masters of Dark Side went on forever - there is a
summary(including my own biases):

Release                  Sound Quality
*****************************************************
Capital(U.S)             the worst of all versions - probably 2nd generation
                         Harvest masters.

Harvest(U.K.)            bad - not the original masters

Harvest(Japan)           the best? - probably the original masters - see below

Mobile Fidelity          the best?? - re-equed so that various parts
                         are louder(the hartbeat) - but by my side by side
                         with the Jap. Harvest not really as good - also
                         (BIG SCREW-UP) was probably recorded over something
                         (the master tape) because 'bleed-through' at very
                         end of disc can be heard a string section - mabie
                         from early Beatles song??
