Imported records under attack -- again

Subject: Imported records under attack -- again

Unpatriotic scum who wish to purchase recordings manufactured
anywhere but in the good ol' U.S.A. might want to read the article
"Imports Under Fire" on page 16 of the 07/02 ROLLING STONE.
Excerpts from the article are posted in rec.music.misc and rec.music.folk
under an identical title line, with message-ID <1541@msudoc.UUCP>.

In brief, a recent court ruling requires record importers to
get clearance from the copyright holder of each song on an album
before importing it. I expect this ruling to make yet another drastic
cut in the record importing business, following on the cuts triggered
by the recent "parallel imports" decision.
