House of Freaks are two guys from Lynchburg, Virginia (home of
Falwell?) on guitar and drums (although some mysterious bass lines
occasionally found their way into the PA).  These guys are hot!  Fast,
loud songs with often catchy lyrics.  Very big sound for just two
musicians.  Check them out if they show up in your area.

Holy Sisters of the Gaga Dada are sort of a homegrown doom'n gloom
feminism, with a lot of humor thrown in.  Very big with the dyke
crowd.  Well conceived songs, great gothic Monkees medley, but only
the drummer can do shit with her instrument.

Thelonius Monster is LA's garagiest garage band.  I think they
complete about a third of their songs.  They make up for their
thorough obnoxiousness by having a really solid, frenetic sound.
