Don't Give Up

I have to say that when I first heard Don't Give Up I immediately thought
of the situation in G.B. right now with unemployment and pessimism being
the rule for young people, so I think that Phil's opinion of the song is
not all that "outlandish". The song may have been inspired by the "dust
bowl years" in the U.S., but maybe Gabriel's point is that the lessons
learned from those hard times should be remembered now by those in similar
predicaments. The scenery changes, but the message is the same.

Dave "bd" Hsu -- What does the "bd" stand for Dave? "bad dude?"
You mean all that time I was working at CVL I didn't even suspect you as
a closet KB freak, not to mention the Residents? By the way, have any of
you heard the indoctrination of Penn Gillette on the Ralph Records 10th
anniversary album? It documents the effects of locking one Penn Gillette
in a motel room for six (6) days and making him listen to ALL Ralph Records
has ever put out. Not really an album worth buying if you ask me, since
it only contains cuts of lots of songs--not too many complete ones--but it
does have most of "Satisfaction" on it, which is in my opinion, the best
version of that song I've ever heard. I taped it off of WCVT one late
night a long time ago. Alright, enough rambling...
