Chameleons UK

Another great concert here at UMass - Chameleons UK with Nova Mob
opening. Now, I didn't know too much about the Chameleons before the
show besides having heard the album once or twice and owning one of the
songs on tape somewhere, but I was converted. They played extremely
well, with the sound being sharper and clearer than any small club
show I've seen. It was a good thing too, because the musicianship was
real solid, not like some bands who make up for lack of talent with
enthusiasm and volume. They were loud all right, but you could still
hear each note distinct and separate. Praise must go to the rhythm section
for being real tight. As a friend put it, "They're a great band to play
air drums too". So, if the Chameleons are playing your local bar or college
campus, check them out, they're quite good. (and hey, only $2 admission
-- can you beat that?)
