Phantom Tollbooth

I just picked up Phantom Tollbooth's EP on Homestead, and what a tasty morsel
it is indeed. Energetic "artcore" it is, if you will; complex compositions
for the genre, with some murderous playing. Lyric sheet is necessary. The
local store labels this stuff somewhere between Big Black and Pussy Galore,
but I hear alot of the spirit of Scratch Acid in it. Not as well produced
as Scratch Acid--there's some fairly muddy bass here and there, but nothing
upsetting. There's some very wild, weird playing on this EP.

Recommended.

Like I've said before, I don't know much about the punk/hardcore groups. If
you know of any good groups treading similar ground to say Scratch Acid, Uzi,
Phantom Tollbooth, I'd appreciate hearing about them. (Or is everyone off
studying for finals? Geez, what geeks...)
