Hofmann on Elvis C.

he did have an "Aim" towards "changing" pop music...

Agreed, but it was ``back to'' to the way things used to be (or the way he
though they used to be). He wasn't going to build everything back from the
ground up -- any twit could perceive that in the music and the interviews
where he raved about American music of all kinds. And that's why the
critics always drool over him, and if you've think he's become a NuWave Paul
Simon, it's because they sense a compatible direction in what he does -- the
verbal songwriting thing, which is a talent for him that can get out of
control. (Prefab Sprout, anyone ?)

If you're not a cool pop theorist, Hofboyy, then why do you HAVE to review a
tape from a band from Idaho ? Either you're getting paid or you're driven
by those cool pop theorist urges.
