Just heard Joe Zawinul's Ascent (on Miles Davis' double album
Directions). No wonder Eno had a track called Zawinul Lava on Another
Green World. This is a nice pre-ambient piece with three electronic
pianos and acoustic piano, and other instruments. There are some
really beautiful textured passages from the keyboards, tho Zawinul
had to make room for the obligatory solos from Miles Davis etc. The
piece is dated 1968 (not released till much later, tho) so Eno could
well have been influenced by Zawinul. Any Eno experts out there care
to comment?

Did anyone pick up the Village Voice for last week? There was
a half page ad for HoL, with a nice picture of Kate (conservative hairdo),
and on the rest of the page, a Mission of Burma review! Synchronicity
strikes again...

And who/what is Shock Headed Peters?
