That is apparently what they do with this Yes "fanzine" I subscribe to. It's also what we do here at PE; up to a certain number of copies (the number is small, something like 20-30) it costs less to Xerox, but for anything above that, we send it off to one of these printers. (Well, actually we usually send it up to the main office, who has its own print shop, but it's the same thing). You can tell things printed at these printers as distinct from Xerox by the fact that Xerox machines deposit a thin layer of powdered plastic which then gets melted onto the paper, leaving a slightly raised texture to the print, whereas the printing places apparently use ink, which soaks into the paper. (I don't know how the process works... I wish I did.) (PS - trivia - nifty trick... try dusting some of that xerox powder onto an old (to-be-discarded) credit card's magnetic strip... or some (digital) magnetic tape... etc... This works with the powder from the Canon cartridges, at least, since inside the cartridge is an enormous magnet which picks up the powder into a film to be deposited onto the paper... I guess it probably works with other brands.)
