Hi! Rolf inquired: >What's a good Jane Siberry album to start with? >(I've already heard "Bound By The Beauty", and didn't like it that much) Pretty much all of Jane's albums are completely different, so there's something for everyone. :) _When I Was A Boy_ is one of the best albums ever, and I'd recommend it based on your list of other favorite artists. Its followup, _Maria_ is basically a jazz album, if you're interested in that too. For 80's pop there's _No Borders Here_ and _The Speckless Sky_, and of course _The Walking_ is still considered by many to be her masterwork (though _WIWAB_ replaced it in my mind when it came out). For a more acoustic folk album, try her self-titled debut. >Another question: does someone know what happened to Shona Laing? >I've got that one album, "South", from around 1986, and never heard >of her again. She put out a couple albums since then, and IMHO they're both crap. She's still out there, though. I found a web site dedicated to her: <http://www.nzwwa.com/mirror/bullsbus/shona/>. It's got a complete discography and other info you may be interested in. While I'm here, I might as well jump on the bandwagon: my other faves besides Kate are, in no particular order: Sarah McLachlan, Tori Amos, Happy Rhodes, Susan McKeown, Emily Bezar, Veda Hille, and about 800 others. :) +==========================================================================+ | Meredith Tarr meth@smoe.org | | Boonton, NJ USA http://www.smoe.org/~meth | +==========================================================================+ | "I'll take implosion over dissolution any day" - Emily Bezar | +==========================================================================+
