Thanks Krys for an intelligent and thoughtful answer to recent comments about Kate's career. I think one of the most revealing personal comments Kate has made in an interview (I believe it was in a print interview) was that she couldn't wait until the album promotion was over and she could get back to work on the herbacious border in her garden. Go Kate! I hope you folks in England don't think TOO badly of us for "Katemas" -- and I REALLY hope you don't think we take it as an actual pseudo-religious holiday. Having attended many of these parties and having met a fair number of fans, I have to say Katemas is an excuse to get together and eat a bunch of food and see people we can trade collectibles with. In America the religious connotation of the word "mass" has long since given way to that of consumerism! Therefore we get together and consume chocolate (which some would contend IS a religious experience), toast Kate's health and enjoy her wonderful work. Maybe you'll make it to San Francisco some July and join us? The invitation is permanently open, and I'm sure we can save you the hotel costs and put you up. Thanks again for the lengthy and thoughtful commentary. Karen Karen Newcombe kln@staralliance.com I am not this steeply sloping hour in which you see me hurrying -- Rainer Maria Rilke
