O.K. Apart from Woomera being the site of rocket testing in the early 60's I
think. The word itself means:

WOOMERA, Noun, Aboriginal 'throwing-stick' by means of which a dart or spear
is propelled; short club used as missile.

Hard to draw in ASCII so imagine a long stick with a loop of string at one e-
nd like __________o. The dart or spear is then attached like an arrow would be
on a bow. the long stick is the thrown overhand (although you hang onto the
stick).

   Hope this helps.
