Hi!

Emergency response team again ;-)

gryphon.com currently has problems being accessed from the outside world. This
is due to the fact that there's a mixup in what the world thinks the real
numeric internet address of gryphon.com is. Part of the world thinks it's
192.216.168.20 which is wrong. Correct is 192.68.228.66 - if you send an email
to love-hounds@gryphon.com or any other user on that site and you keep getting
messages about not being able to get through to that site, your computer is
probably thinking of the wrong address. Unfortunately email is the one service that seems to be unable to use numeric internet addresses, so you can but just wait to get your mail through eventually, which it at some point seems to do.

http://www.gryphon.com/gaffa/ (Gaffaweb) seems to be unreachable as well, at least for me. Here you are able to substitue the numeric address, so if you've got difficulties to get to Gaffaweb, try http://192.68.228.66/gaffa/ instead. You might have to substitute www.gryphon.com with 192.68.228.66 once in a while if you're following links.

Unfortunately this doesn't help getting stuff into the newsgroup
rec.music.gaffa without cheating (and skipping the mailing lists and the
archives). I do not know whether the reason rec.music.gaffa is empty is the
very same, just related, or independend of the problem above, but I'd say
chances are quite good that it's the same problem. The mailing lists work fine
though, *if* you can reach them (or know how to reach them).

Unfortunately it seems like we have to wait until the InterNIC gets into its
gears and repairs their database.

Bye,

Uli
