i could have answered my own question about what a fujara is (see my earlier post about bushtucker's _skyscraping_, which i've listened to three times since answered alan's post, liking it more each time) if i had just unfolded the jewel case insert. one side of the insert is a collage of photographs of the instruments used in the recording, photocopies of descriptions of the instruments taken from text books, recording information for the record, other text that refers to lyrics in the songs and something that appears to be an african tree of life (for those of you who have the album, i'm talking about the drawn diagram in the upper left hand corner). a fujara is, and i quote, a "large duct flute of slovakia. the upper end of the long stopped tube (140 to 200 cm long) is connected to a a smaller tube carrying the mouthpiece (see illustration). the widely-spaced finger holes are positioned in the lower part of the main pipe." if anyone who knows anything about that tree of life-like diagram, please post - i'm interested. _O_ | woj@remus.rutgers.edu |< | hai, banana-wa arimasen
