A colleague of mine has just pointed out (bless him) that that an hour long Kate Bush documentary is going out on satellite (VH-1) on Wednesday 22 May from 7-8pm. It's on VH-1's "Egos and Icons" series. Here's the review (Timeout) [The recent Tom Waits profile on VH-1's 'Egos And Icons' showcased the eccentric joys of one of rock's less predictable artists, and this weeks, with the focus on Kate Bush, it is just as likely to please both hardcore fans and the idly curious. Ever since her precociously successful debut single, 'Wuthering Heights', Bush has looked to art and literature as much as spirit and emotions to create pop songs that often seem more sensual and magical than yer average Top 10 fodder. The 'Egos' series is more lo-fi than something 'The South Bank Show' might throw up, but this keeps the subjects fresher and, especially when dealing with the likes of Bush, whose story has been told a thousand times before, it works unexpectedly well. The series concentrates a good deal more on the artists' pop promos, which, in Bush's case, should make for exceptional viewing even if, during the clips from interviews, she doesn't decide to spill any scandalous beans along the way. Laura Lee Davies 'Egos And Icons: Kate Bush', VH-1, Satellite, 7-8pm] Now I just have to find someone who can tape it for me... Min Thorne min@waknuk.demon.co.uk or araminta@quantime.co.uk
