I am intrigued by KaTe's interpretation of *The Red Shoes* and was wondering if there are other Lovehounds out there who have investigated connections between KaTe and the work of the brilliant film director Michael Powell (1905-1990). He directed the film version of *The Red Shoes* (1948), a movie that many believe to be the finest film about ballet ever made, and a classic of British cinema. I believe I saw an item in *Homeground* that mentioned her fondness for his work, and I find the two share in many respects a common sensibility beyond their taste in, er, *Shoes*. If anyone's looking, I would direct their attention to the actress Pamela Brown, who gives a striking performance in Powell's "I Know Where I'm Going!" (1945) that immediately calls the memory of The Lady to mind. And there's something in Powell's *A Matter of Life and Death* (U.S. title: :Stairway to Heaven*) that reminds me of KaTe's aesthetic as well. I have to know whether I'm the only fan who's ever ruminated on this subject. Thanks
