Car chases are not always a bad thing (ever seen
BULLITT, THE BLUES BROTHERS, SUGARLAND EXPRESS and - of course - THE ROAD
WARRIOR).
Cinema is the art form of MOTION, and I don't mean SICKNESS (as in
our beloved goddess spinning around and around and around and around ...).
Moving TOWARD something is always a great idea. Great ideas are always
what you aim to move toward.
TLTCTC is purely self-indulgent. No problem for the rabid, uncritical
fans (such as Steverino), but I am also a fan of film as an art form. I
applaud The Lady for trying the impossible adventure of motion picture
directing, always an arduous but rewarding task. Still, stringing together
music videos is not a film.
I'll take any of her songs, where her performance is perfect and the
music sublime. And I'll remind the "cineaste" among you that David Lynch
also directed WILD AT HEART, one of the singularly worst films of all
time.
Nobody bats a thousand, sports fans!

                                                             +

                                                             +

P.S. SOME of us got
        Eraserhead on
        the FIRST
        viewing.
